Volunteer For KKS: Choose A Committee
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee shall have charge of the management, business and affairs of the Corporation in the interim between meetings of the Directors, provided however that the Executive Committee shall not have the power or authority to increase or decrease the number of the members of such committee or to designate the members of such committee or to fill any vacancy in the Board of Directors or any committee appointed by the Board of Directors.
FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee shall have the responsibility for reviewing the overall planning of all financial matter of the Corporation, including investments, capital expenditures, budgets and appropriation, and shall make recommendations to the Board of Directors with respect thereto and also with respect to the formulation and development of the fiscal policies of the Corporation. This committee shall assist the Treasurer with the fiscal and financial matters of the Board.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee shall have the responsibility of conducting the search for and evaluation of, proposals to the Board for nomination, by majority action of the Board of Directors, of a panel of qualified, competent and worthy candidates, distinguished in their field of endeavor from which panel the Board of Directors shall make its selection for nomination. The Nominating Committee may in its discretion consider candidates proposed by members of this Corporation.
GIFTING COMMITTEE
The Gifting Committee shall develop strategies and programs for securing organizational partners. This committee shall be responsible for the development, implement, coordination with other committees and dissemination of the information to the community.
FUNDRAISING AND SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
The Fundraising Committee shall be responsible for coordinating fundraising and special events as they relate to the Board and the organization.
MARKETING AND PUBLICITY COMMITTEE
The Marketing and Publicity Committee shall develop and implement a sound plan to bring public awareness to the organization. This committee shall also coordinate all marketing and publicity for functions, special events and other committee organization and Board efforts with television, radio, newspapers and other media outlets.
AFFECTED FAMILIES COMMITTEE (YOUTH & ADULT)
The Affected Families Committee shall convey and report to the Board the needs, matters and critical information concerning the population in which the organization serves. This committee shall serve as the liaison to the families of individuals who are affected by Sickle Cell Disease.
LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
The Legislative Committee shall keep track of legislation that pertains to Sickle Cell Anemia or any Disability Act. Keep in contact with any state, federal and local politician as well as any lobbyist that is working on behalf of Sickle Cell.

The mission of Kincaid’s Kindred Spirits is to advocate and support research, medical care, and greater access to human services for individuals with Sickle Cell Anemia and Sickle Cell Trait.Our organization exists for the purpose of bringing community awareness to the plight of adults who are afflicted with this illness. Our aim is to help lessen their uncertainty and to improve their quality of life by mobilizing for greater public support of health care maintenance, alternatives to independent living and access to employment opportunities.
